Whole Wheat Honey Bread


 In our endeavors to eat less additives, our new challenge is to learn to bake bread and pizza at home, with the least amount of additives as possible.
Finding dry yeast packet is easy, but getting fresh yeast is difficult. While I was searching for fresh yeast suppliers, I found this list of ingredients on the
http://redstaryeast.com/whole-wheat-honey-bread/ , before we loose this information, decided to post it. Have baked bread from scratch before, but always used fresh yeast, and the quality of the bread and grains was absolutely great. So a little uncomfortable using dry yeast packets.

 

Ingredients

Small Loaf

  • ⅓ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg, room temperature
  • 1 TBSP Oil
  • 2 TBSP Honey
  • ⅔ cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1⅓ cup Bread Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1+1/2 tsp Active Dry Yeast

 

 

Medium Loaf

  • 3 TBSP Water
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg, room temperature
  • 2 TBSP Oil
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 cups Bread Flour
  • 1½ tsp Salt
  • 2¼ tsp Active Dry Yeast

 

 

Large Loaf

  • ⅓ Cup Water
  • ⅔ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg, room temperature
  • 3 TBSP Oil
  • 6 TBSP Honey
  • 1⅓ cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2⅔ cups Bread Flour
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 TBSP Active Dry Yeast
